A VIRTUAL LENT

I thought this Lent that I needed to shake things up a little.  I find that I dread most Lents, then hunker down to get through so that I can get back to eating or watching whatever I gave up.  I'm sure that I grow a little, because God's involved, but I thought this year perhaps I could try to be a little more intentional about letting God transform me.

As I looked at the Sundays and realized that there were six, my mad math skills told me that the Sundays plus Ash Wednesday happened to equal the number of cardinal and theological virtues combined.  So, I have decided to preach on a different virtue on Ash Wednesday and each Sunday, thus making this a Virtue-el-Lent, a Virtual Lent.  Get it?  No?  Oh well, I'm doing it anyway.

So, I will be posting the homilies after I record them.  I hope this helps you (and me) to make this a more transformative Lent.  May we all become bolder, more virtuous disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ!!

Ash Wednesday - Temperance

First Sunday of Lent - Fortitude

Second Sunday of Lent - Justice

Third Sunday of Lent - Prudence

Fourth Sunday of Lent - Faith

Fifth Sunday of Lent - Hope

Palm Sunday - Love

Solemnity of St. Joseph - Husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Just to take a little break from the fasting and restraint of Lent, we are given the Solemnity of St. Joseph on March 19th.  St. Joseph is one of my best buds, so I thought I'd post my homily about him from the Mass on his solemnity.  If you're listening to this on the 19th, join me in having a dessert in his honor!!
